Snickerdoodle Fun

So I have several posts to do....again, so I'm going to keep this first one short.  I was working on one of my many papers for school one day when my brain decided to shut off and I knew it was time to bake something because no more words were going to come out of me for my paper.  So I started looking for something to bake and talking to Curt to see what he wanted and we came up with Snickerdoodles.  Then, while browsing bakerella.com for a good recipe, I found this one-- http://www.bakerella.com/snickerdoodle-duo/.  It was really fun and allowed me to make more than just cookies because I have discovered that I love making cakes.  So, I set to work procuring the ingredients and tools I needed to make these wonderful cookie/cupcakes.  I ended up spending way too much time at my sister's house (I borrowed a muffin tin from her) and actually didn't make these until later in the evening.  But that's okay, they still turned out and it was a nice break from that paper writing.  The cookies were fabulous and if you just want them, I totally recommend them.  They were easy and good.  I think the recipe calls for too much cinnamon in the cinnamon/sugar mixture.  I would definitely use less if I made them again.  And I didn't do the crazy frosting that they make.  I just did a basic confectioner's sugar, milk, butter and vanilla frosting.  I added stuff until I got the right consistency and called it good.  Here's what they looked like---

The cupcakes....

The cookies, yummm!....

The final product, and...

Curt enjoying the final product!  Though, the cupcake was still warm at this point and the frosting was melting.  Ha ha, that's okay, it was still good!
